Using TeamworkPM - The Mission of Mercy story.

When we started to build TeamworkPM we built it primarily to scratch our own itch. As the product progressed and we added features that helped us, we used to think of how proud we'd be knowing that our software would be out in the real world helping other companies manage their projects.

I don’t think any of us here thought that our system would actually be used help to make some peoples lives better in the world or to give those who need a hand in life a better chance.

We received the email below from Mark Pluimer in Mission of Mercy letting us know that TeamworkPM has been of huge benefit to them. It was a great email to get and we're delighted that our work makes their great work easier.

This is the email I received last week from Mark:

Mission of Mercy is a child development organization with 40,000 children in 17 countries.  As a child sponsorship organization, we’re small, but we play a vital role in the lives of the children.  It is not uncommon to have several members of our team traveling out of country at the same time.  We have been searching for a solution to the endless cycle of emails and attachments, and after testing several platforms, made the decision to go with TeamworkPM.  We are thrilled with the decision.  One of the first projects was a communications piece that was under a tight deadline.  The revisions were able to be posted on TeamworkPM with each team member being able to add comments.  The final revision was signed off on by our Marketing Director, who was in Kenya, and I gave final approval on my iPad from India!

We started out with just a handful of projects.  By the end of the first month, we were at 25 and growing, as each of our leaders is finding it useful for projects within their departments.  It is already helping us become more efficient and effective in our communication.  As President, I can now review projects underway, ask or answer questions, grant approvals or reorder priorities regardless of my location.  I’ve added discussion projects for our Executive team, with files, notebooks and resources online.  This gives everyone a chance to review pertinent discussions and related information, as well as to make discussion comments prior to any meeting.  We’re much better prepared for decision-making in our meetings.

You staff has been very responsive to our questions, and you even updated a couple features at the request of our MIS staff.  You can’t ask for more than that.  With a mixed environment of PCs, Macs, iPhones and iPads, it has been a great benefit for our organization.  We are looking at working with some of our national leaders in different countries through TeamworkPM, as well.  Ultimately, though, whenever we can work more effectively, it benefits the children we serve.  Thank you for the role you play in our organization.

If you have an interesting story how you, your company or your orginisation use TeamworkPM just let us know

Operating an online company, is still all about customer service.

Below is a blog post from one of our customers who wrote this post on their own blog. We were so proud to receive this type of feedback that we just had to re-post it here in the engine room.

Top Notch Customer Service Is Teamwork Project Manager’s Killer App

About 6 months ago, Phases migrated our project management systems from Basecamp to Teamwork Project Manager – 2 web-based products that take the place of a desktop app like Microsoft Project. Now, I don’t usually take the time out to write a blog about a product/service that we use, but over the past few months I have been so impressed with Teamwork that I just had to take some time and let everyone know about this fantastic company!

Why We Moved

To put it simply, I felt as if the studio had outgrown Basecamp. There was no easy way to archive files once they were uploaded to the site, scheduling across projects was time consuming; we always found ourselves needing a feature that was not there, and updates were far and few between.

So we began to search for an alternative.

We demoed a few products, and Teamwork seemed to have most of the features we were looking for—not all, but most. The biggie was the ability to download files in batches. So we migrated our Basecamp data (yup, they offer a direct import from your Basecamp account!) to the new system and updated our clients.

Almost instant feedback response

After a few months I found an annoyance in the scheduling options, so I thought I would try out the feedback option. To my utmost surprise I had a response from one of the developers the same day. My request was a bit complex, but guess what? They have it scheduled for implementation!

Over the next several months I noticed a few little things that would make my daily chores much easier, so I used the feedback form again. And to my delight, I got the same speedy response from the guys at Teamwork with just one difference: some of my suggestions / requests had been implemented within just a day or two of my request! I felt like a kid in the candy store when I was using the new options that I had requested.

We’re from the Internet. We’re here to help you.

Today’s internet offers almost countless products and companies that are supposed to make our work-lives easier and more convenient. And while this is often true, because we no longer have to leave our desks, go down to the store and talk to other human beings in person, we end up missing the personal touch of a store front business.

Teamwork’s ability to supply the missing link of personalized client service is what sets their brand experience apart from other Web-based companies and what has made me into a brand evangelist. Kudos to Sam, Dan and everyone at Teamwork for the phenomenal customer service and fantastic product.

Here are just a few Teamwork Project Manager features that rocked our world:

  • Notebooks: a way to easily share content with your team.
  • Bulk file downloads: just check off the files you want and click the download button. Yup. That’s it.
  • Risk Register: record and manage everything that might put a hiccup in your schedule.
  • Resources: compile a list of resources (websites, google documents, anything and everything) that others on your team might need.
  • File associations with messages: This one was fantastic to discover.  You can attach any file to a message after it has been uploaded, or upload a new file to the message.
  • Task scheduling: (recommended by yours truly!) Reschedule an entire task list by “pushing” back the dates and maintaining time frame between each task.
  • Calendar: Quickly view all activities across projects, and even schedule items independent of a project.

Check out the full list of project management tools the service offers for yourself, and don’t forget to look over the roadmap for future enhancements.

TeamworkPM is now on Facebook

Just a quick post to let you know that I'm in the process of setting up our new Facebook page for TWPM. Please make sure you stop by and become a friend or fan or what ever it is called at the moment.

It will be great to finally put some faces to the names, as we feel like we know some of you rally well but just the emails we receive, but it would be cool to also see the pretty faces of our users as well :-)

I'm also hoping it will be a great way for us all to get to know each other a bit more and it could also be a very interesting place for people to suggest new ideas and then get feedback from other users of TWPM on these ideas instead of just receiving our feedback via the feedback system within TWPM.

This may also lead to the wisdom of the crowd and between us all may well come up with some even better and more amazing features to add in the system.

So come on over and say hello, at our new Facebook page www.facebook.com/TeamworkPM

Nice email to wake up to this morning

Your software is a bloody work of art! I've scoured the earth for years for the perfect one (Redmine, Basecamp, ActiveCollab), and Teamwork beats them all, especially for multi-project tracking. It's so BLAZINGLY FAST to use, so gloriously intuitive, and astoundingly powerful all at the same time. When proposing proper PM systems to the powers-that-be, TW's beauty and ease of use counts a whole lot. Thanks for rocking my PM world! Please don't throw a bunch of junk features in.

Thanks guys,
Evan

Feedback keeps us driving forward

One of the great things about running an online business is that you get to interact with so many people from all types of business throughout the world and that you get real time feedback from them. You get to hear about what they like, and what they dislike as well as suggestions about how they think certain areas of TeamworkPM should work.

The other great thing about feedback is that you do get the comments like this one below that keeps us driving ahead to produce the best online project management application out there.

It's great to get receive emails and comment like this from time to time and it's always good to know that we are competing well with market leaders in the space such as the mighty Basecamp.

To all our users who have sent us feedback, thanks and keep it coming.
