Introducing Teamwork Mobile

Today we are happy to announce the launch of Teamwork Mobile. This optimized version of TeamworkPM will work on most modern smart phones and tablets directly within the devices web browser. There are no prerequisites; no apps are required and nothing needs to be installed.


    What is Teamwork Mobile?

    Teamwork Mobile is a touch-optimised web app which utilises the latest in web technologies (HTML5, CSS3 & JS). These allow for smooth transitions, quicker page loads, data caching and much more. These technologies allowed us to make one app that works on most modern phones and devices.

    For all of you that have been asking us for a BlackBerry app, this version will work very well on the latest BlackBerry phones.

    The app features a responsive layout which allows it to adapt to screens of different sizes. So whether you are using it on a tablet, in your PCs web browser or on a touch device, the interface will automatically change to allow for optimal use (so it works great on an iPad for example).

     

    This version of Teamwork will work across a wide range of devices. Though we do not have the means to test TWM on every platform, we expect that it will work so long as your device fits any of the specifications listed below.

    So what can Teamwork Mobile do?

    If you are familliar with either of our current native apps (Android & iOS) you will be happy to see that we have used a very similar layout and the feature set is much the same; so getting to know the new app should be a piece of cake.

    We also have a few updates planned already so make sure you keep an eye on the blog to remain updated on what we are working on.

    How do I access the mobile version?

    TeamworkPM should detect that you are accessing your account from a mobile device and should change across to the mobile version automatically. If it doesn't just put /m after your TeamworkPM url to access the mobile site. eg. http://yourcompanyname.teamworkpm.net/m

    Nice work on the redesign! I've been a fan for a long time and this update looks great on my ipad. The native screen design was actually keeping me from using it, but I know have fast and easy access to what I need.

    You guys are always on top of it. Keep up the good work and keep the updates coming! You wouldn't happen to working on a way to make your projects offline would you. Say I'm on a plane but want to plan. Just a thought.

    Not showing up yet on the Apple app store? I have the old version (iPhone format) on my iPad and the app store is not finding an update. Searching through the app store interface doesn't show the iPad version either.

    @Steve This is a HTML application, so you don't install anything.
    Just browse to your site on your iPad or iPhone or Android etc. and you will see an optimized version for mobile. Hope that makes sense. We will also be pushing updates to the dedicated apps in the coming weeks. Hope you like it. The updates coming to the iPhone version will blow your mind. :D

    Hi Steve,

    This isn't a native iPad app I'm afraid so you won't be able to find it in the app store. It is a new web based interface optimized for touch devices.

    You can get to it using safari (or any other browser) on your iPad. Below the form on your usual teamworkpm login page you should see a link saying "switch to mobile version". Press that and you should be good to go.

    Just wanted to know if there' s way to access files of project via this as I don't seem to be able to click on the files !

    This is great to see, and in a quick peek looks pretty good.

    My first feature request, which I always check for todo apps is "Please allow arbitrary drag-reordering of tasks". Its surprising how many todo apps simply don't allow this, thinking priority or date ordering is sufficient. I know the full Teamwork allows it, and thats why I use it, but I would very much like it on the mobile version too.

    Good to see the continuing development of Teamwork, well done for this update.

    Only thing missing (for us) is the ability to add comments to Milestones from a mobile device, which is also missing from the iPhone App.

    Can you please, please add this feature to either/both this new mobile site and/or the iPhone App.

    Hi,

    I have been trying to get the mobile version to work with my Xperia X2 windows mobile (using opera 10 mobile as browser) and it does not work. All it gives me is a blank page.
    The normal site i.e sahaj.teamworkpm.net does load and can login but for the mobile version, all it shows is a blank page.

    thanks for this wonderful dev, but it doesn't work on my iPad.
    each time i go to my web using /m at the end, nothing happen.
    Is it because I'm "pro" with my custom domain on business2 plan ?
